The relevance of the study is motivated by the deterioration of the health of schoolchildren, the increase in risk factors that reduce the body’s functional reserves, the spread of social and behavioral diseases, the epidemiological challenges of modern times, and the growth of neuropsychological stress. It is possible to reduce the influence of these factors on schoolchildren’s health by creating a health[1]preserving educational environment. In this regard, high-quality professional training of future teachers for organizing and implementing health-preserving activities in secondary education institutions becomes significant. The purpose of writing the article is a development of a predictive model of training future teachers for health-preserving activities in the university educational environment. This paper analyzes the contribution of scientists in the field of pedagogy, psychology, valeology, school hygiene, physical culture, and sports in the development of theoretical and methodological aspects of future teachers’ training for health-preserving activities in the educational environment. It supports the requirement to optimize the training of future teachers for professional activities in the educational environment based on the competency approach. Among its components, healthcare competence takes a prominent place. In this regard, the health category becomes an object of pedagogical influence. This paper establishes the primary research terms forming the basis of the conceptual and categorical apparatus. In particular, these terms include «competence,» «health-preserving competence,» and «health-preserving competence of the future teacher.» We established a model for developing the health-saving competence of future teachers in the educational environment. It is presented as a complex system of interconnected structural elements aimed at achieving the goal. This system incorporates the following structural components: value[1]motivational, cognitive, operational-active, and emotional-volitional. In addition, this paper reveals pedagogical conditions that influence the formation of health-saving competence of future teachers and respective efficiency criteria. The formation of healthcare competencies of future teachers in higher education institutions requires thorough knowledge, abilities and skills, personal qualities and proficiency, and the ability to implement them in professional activities in the educational environment
